Portfolio management
Practice running a bill portfolio
A demo account shows what managing bills involves: maturities to track, cash coming back on set dates, and decisions about what to do with it. All holdings and balances are simulated.
What you can do in a demo account
Holdings by lot
Each purchase is kept as a lot with its face value, cost basis, acquisition date and maturity. Partial sales relieve lots first in, first out.
Ladder builder
Allocate simulated capital across eligible bills in valid increments, and see the income implied by simulated prices and the residual cash.
Maturity calendar
Upcoming maturities and the cash they return, with a projection of simulated cash flow.
Reinvestment instructions
Set a position to roll at maturity into the bill closest to the same term, if one is available.
Rate sensitivity
See how a holding’s value responds if the quoted rate moves up or down, which is the risk you take if you sell early.
Statements and exports
Statements are built from posted journals and stored with a content hash, and download as PDF or CSV.
The life of a simulated position
Each stage writes to the ledger and the audit log, so the records can be compared.
- 1
Fund
Add simulated cash using a fictional funding reference.
- 2
Quote
Request a simulated quote derived from the official reference rate. It expires quickly.
- 3
Order
Review the preview and confirm. The order moves through validation and execution.
- 4
Settle
The position stays in a settling state until the settlement date.
- 5
Mature
At maturity the simulated position pays face value, or rolls if instructed.
An example ladder
A ladder holds bills maturing at intervals, so cash comes back regularly and only part of it faces the rate on any one date.
The example ladder below is produced by the live ladder endpoint from official reference rates and simulated prices. It is a planning illustration, not an offer and not a record of real performance.
